Today we’ve unveiled a further wave of brilliant acts to complete the full Main Stage and Big Top Tent line-ups for 2020. Our festival takes place on the Early May Bank Holiday Weekend in just three months’ time, so let’s get cracking!
Headlined by mammoth boyband fusion, Boyzlife; with live PA’s from British dance music legends including K-Klass, Rozalla and Angie Brown. There’s local heroes like Peter Hook of Joy Division & New Order, and Clint Boon of Inspiral Carpets; followed by a long line up of appearances from industry-leading tributes to Elton John, The Beatles, Courteeners, U2, Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds, UB40, ABBA and many more.
Now in its third year at the Cheadle Hulme site, Cheshire Fest promises a huge celebration yet again, bigger than ever with an improved Main Stage and the addition of the entirely new Big Top Stage; which is housed in a giant, under-cover festival tent.
The 2020 music line-up is our largest to date and the wider festival boasts a packed programme of family entertainment, children’s activities, festival food and drink that are yet to be announced, making it one of the stand out events in the region with something on offer for everyone. FRIDAY 8TH MAY
The foremost Elton John tribute act in the UK, Ultimate Elton and The Rocket Band present an uncannily accurate reproduction of the classic live shows of one of pop music’s most successful and best-loved artists acclaimed by Elton’s family colleagues and music producers.
Courtbetweeners are a top-class act that bring the vibe and energy of this amazing local band and have played at a host of top festivals across the country, lauded for their wide set-list breaching across the five albums of this much-loved band’s seminal discography.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Carpets is made up of five excellent musicians who turned their attention to profiling this next-generation act, with lead singer Noel sounding the real deal! Also playing a select list of the top Oasis tracks which defined a generation, they’re not to miss.
Tony Lewis appears as Robbie Williams, a sure-fire hit with any big Robbie fans. With an uncanny appearance and an equal swagger on stage, Tony has performed across the globe and will bring some fun to the stage at Cheshire Fest.
Officially the most successful band of all time, The Beatles have a back-catalogue of hits that continue to be adored to this day. And hailing from Liverpool, The Cavern Beatles are the highest profile and best tribute to the Merseybeat kings – regularly touring around the world, authentically reproducing their sound on genuine 60’s instruments.
A true British icon of recent times, Adele’s very own tribute Hometown Glory leaves audiences spellbound with the songstress’s wonderful array of hits to bring a soulful note to the day. Enjoy classics like Rolling In The Deep, Set Fire To The Rain and Skyfall.
Then in the Big Top, there’s a duo of live PA’s from dance music divas Rozalla and Angie Brown – who shot to fame with hits in the 90’s which still resonate to this day. Rozalla had many hit singles but is possibly most well known for the massive ‘Everybody’s Free (to feel good)’. Her career even spanned into recording the theme song for Carlito’s Way and touring with Michael Jackson, opening shows on his Dangerous Tour. Also taking to the stage is another amazing dance music vocalist, Angie Brown who came into the spotlight alongside DJ collective Bizarre Inc with ‘I’m Gonna Get You’ – revered as a floor-filling track to this day. Angie has toured with everyone from Fat Boy Slim to Rolling Stones, Chaka Khan, Happy Mondays, Grace Jones and Heather Small.
SATURDAY 10TH MAY
On Saturday, two worlds collide for a special headline performance by Boyzlife – with Brian McFadden of Westlife and Keith Duffy of Boyzone touring the UK with a combined set list of music from their hugely successful careers. Expect hands in the air and raised voices for what will be a dream moment for many fans in the crowd, seeing them up in action once again.
Johnny2Bad are a brilliant 8-piece band with brass section who perform the unique reggae-inspired music of UK legends UB40, presenting a high-energy show with their own twist that always gets crowds dancing with an infectious energy on stage. The band toured with UB40 themselves in 2014 and 2015 playing at top venues including a finale gig O2 Arena in London.
U2UK have won the hearts of U2 fans all over, with European tours taking them to all major countries and as far as Romania and Beirut. The set list features possibly some of the greatest rock anthems ever written and festival goers are sure to be singing along in top voice as this excellent band rock out!
Maybe Gaga is a tribute by Victoria Cluskey who’s performing all of Lady Gaga’s greatest tracks with vocals that stand up to the amazing range and power of the hugely talented artist. With lively and upbeat hits such as ‘Poker Face’ and ‘Born This Way’ set to create some stand out moments, you should also watch out as Victoria performs “Shallow” from her idol’s role in the box office topping 2018 film ‘A Star Is Born’. Pure magic!
Another female powerhouse in pop music is paid tribute by Katy Ellis, taking to the stage as Taylor Swift with replica costumes and a top-quality voice with genuine authenticity. Having sold over 50 million albums worldwide, it’s safe to say that this tribute will be a huge hit with any fans in the crowd.
Featuring during the early afternoon, a great act in Black Eyed Teaz, a tribute to The Black Eyes Peas. This number-one selling group had a rapid rise in the UK starting with ‘Where Is The Love’ before going on to top the charts with consecutive hits – with their dancey, party-starting tunes sure to get the atmosphere going down at the Main Stage in the early afternoon.
Everyone’s favourite Swedish legends, ABBA put out some of the most well-loved music of the 70’s and early 80’s that still garners a massive world-wide following. Their UK tribute Planet ABBA have been keeping those fans singing along and saying “thank you for the music” for over ten years. Expect a professionally choreographed stage show with multiple costume changes, bringing back memories of their endless stream of unforgettable hits.
Last but not certainly not least, over in the Big Top from 6pm onwards there’s a sequence of DJ sets taking us back to the 90’s by clubland legends K-Klass, performing alongside Peter Hook and Clint Boon. K-Klass released a number of massive dancefloor anthems and are one of the most successful artists of their time. Multi-instrumentalist Peter Hook of Joy Division and New Order was part of a big moment in music with both bands, and a new-era take on rock music and innovative electronic influenced tracks. Clint Boon was part of successful local band Inspiral Carpets and has continued to support the next generation of emerging artists through his hit radio shows.
